Q: What are the terms and conditions of consignment with My Petite Gallery?

  • Uniqueness: Artwork must be original art created by the artist. No copies, derivatives, reproductions, or giclée (does not apply to photography or digital art); work cannot be based on copyrighted or previously published materials. Artists may not substitute or alter the work, title, or price after it has been accepted for consignment.

  • Exclusivity: The artist cannot contract with another gallery for the same artwork.

  • Sales and Commission: All works of art must be for sale. Should your work sell, a commission of 40% of the retail price you have designated will go to My Petite Gallery. Please price your artwork realistically, no higher than you’ve been receiving consistently for your work. Pricing is the responsibility of the artist.

  • Discount: Any discount superior to 10% of the agreed sale price would require to be agreed upon in writing and signed by both parties.

  • Duration of consignment: The Artist and My Petite Gallery agree that the initial term of consignment for the Artworks is to be 12 months (renewable).

  • Transportation Responsibilities: Packing and shipping of the artworks to the client is the responsibility of the artist. My Petite Gallery is responsible of charges, insurance costs, other handling expenses, and risk of loss or damage incurred in the delivery.

  • Insurance coverage: My Petite Gallery is responsible for the safekeeping of all consigned artworks while they are in our custody. We are happy to provide any relevant information about our insurance coverage.

Q: Does My Petite Gallery buy artwork directly from artists?

A: On a case by case basis, we can consider direct purchase of artist's inventory.
